Raising Funds

“The path to dreams is rarely linear – one must zig-zag the way to happiness.”

The PTSD Retreat Competa works closely with a number of charities and organisations in the UK which are keen and able to fund breaks for PTSD sufferers at the Retreat.

These charities use donations given to them by their patrons, sponsors and supporters to send PTSD sufferers on life-changing breaks to the PTSD Retreat Competa.

All payments made to the PTSD Retreat Competa to pay for these breaks are reported openly and transparently.

In addition to these partner organisations and charities, the founders of the PTSD Retreat Competa liaise closely with unit welfare funds, trusts and foundations in a bid to source more money to give to charities to pay for holidays at the Retreat for service personnel, military veterans, first responders and health care workers suffering from PTSD.

In this instance, the donating welfare funds, trusts and foundations are either asked to directly identify who would benefit most from the breaks they are funding, or they are asked to nominate and give their donation to a charity which they would prefer select the beneficiaries.  The selected people are then offered the opportunity to holiday at the Retreat by that charity.

At no time do the founders or hosts of the PTSD Retreat Competa ever decide who gets to holiday at the Retreat. That decision is for the units, charities and organisations working on the frontlines of PTSD response.

The founders of the PTSD Retreat also fundraise directly themselves. They seek to raise revenue via everything from one-off sponsored events to multi-day sponsored challenges, to put towards holidays for veterans and their families. The money raised is then forwarded directly to one of the partner charities, to be used for holidays for PTSD sufferers, and to enable more people to benefit from the facilities at the PTSD Resort Competa.
