Most of the activities at the PTSD Retreat Competa can be enjoyed by adults and children alike, so making it ideal as a base for a multi-activity family holidays.
Older children can join Mum and/or Dad walking, cycling, kayaking, canyoning, potholing, horse riding and paddle boarding etc. Children over eight years old can participate in all these activities on trips arranged just for our younger guests, if their parents choose to do something else.
At the PTSD Retreat Competa our emphasis is on total flexibility and making sure everyone gets to do exactly what they want to do for the entire time they are with us.
Younger guests can also take advantage of the nearby Chilli Tri triathlon camp to participate in ‘aquathlon’ training; swimming in the mountain top swimming pool and then taking part in a running race around Competa. They will be training alongside real triathletes!
For very young children during our family activity weeks we offer nannies, childminders and baby sitters, and children’s entertainment in the Retreat in the daytime and the evening. The huge trampoline with protected sides suits all ages, as does the wooden play house hidden behind the cacti in the Retreat grounds. The terrace under the trees is ideal for games for all ages.
Competa is ideally placed for fun family days out too, whether it be to the Aqua Park, market or beach in Torre Del Mar; a tour of Malaga old town and the cruise ship port; the majestic Nerja caves, or walking between the stunning high-sided gorge walls of the Rio Chillar. We even have our own mini Rio Chillar below the resort where hosts can escort younger guests on Indiana Jones-type adventures.
The PTSD Retreat sits on a hillside with magnificent views down to the coast and is a nirvana for wildlife and bird watching.
Just across the hill another small retreat, owned by Reiki In Spain, offers spa days for the ladies with Moroccan Hamman treatments and other beauty-targeted services.
